The Salt Prints Photo March

THE SALT PRINTS is a contemporary artists’ march with the aim to retrace the historical “Dandi March – the 387 km walk from Sabarmati to Dandi”, which launched the history’s greatest nonviolent battle, the civil disobedience campaign, headed by the father of the nation, the great Mahatma Gandhi, in 1930.

My hope behind participating in this march was to better understand Bapu’s thought process behind the unique strategy for challenging the establishment. And eventually to bring it to bear on the field of visual arts to provoke debate and inquiries into the assumptions and ideologies prevalent today. Read More →
